Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do you select your teachers?
All of our tutors are selected for their love of their language and joy at teaching it to others. They are all qualified native speakers with lots of experience teaching groups.
2. How many students are in a group?
Classes average around 7 students and there is a maximum of 12 students in any one class.
3. What sort of students join your courses?
Students of all ages (minimum 18) take our courses. Typcial students are aged 25-50 but we have lots of younger and older students as well.
4. Will I have to do homework?
All students should expect to set aside around an hour a week to do some homework.
5. Do I get a book?
A textbook is inlcuded with all of our Step-by-Step courses. Our Rapido courses all include our own set of course notes.
6. What if I miss a lesson?
Missing one lessons isn't a problem. If you know you're going to miss it then simply inform your teacher and they will let you know what you should study for that week.
7. What languages do you teach?
We currently run courses in Spanish, French, Italian and English.
8. What level am I?
If you're not sure which class to join then get in touch with us and we can advise you.
9. How do I book?
Choose the location you want to learn at and then locate the course you'd like to join. You'll see a nice big Book Now button where you can enrol.
10. The course I want to join has already started -- can I still join?
Yes, as long as there is still availability. Usually we don't let students join after the second week though.
11. Will my course actually run?
We do our best to make sure that all our courses run but we do need a minimum number of students for courses to take place. If your course does have to be cancelled for whatever reason then we'll give you a full refund of any fees paid.
12. Refund Policy
For cancellations more than 20 days before the course start date, The Language Machine will refund all course fees paid.
For cancellations less than 7 days before the course start date, The Language Machine will refund 50% of course fees paid.
Once a course has started no refunds are given but students can transfer to other course at no cost.
